About go dotty go! There was once a girl named Claudia. She was a serial crafter, who had trouble limiting her creativity. She liked to make many, many trinkets and fill her house with crafty things. One Christmas, Claudia thought, “I’d like to give my friends something cool,” and then she got to work. Ever thrifty and eco-conscious, she transformed a few vintage sweaters into some funky dotty winter scarves. Claudia had a friend named Laura, who was one of the recipients of said scarves. A fellow lover of circles, Laura got a little wild and bought many scarves from Claudia to give to her pals. Whenever a scarf was worn, other girls that saw it wanted one too, and this inspired Laura. She thought every girl should be able to enjoy the dotty scarves. “Let’s make lots of scarves and sell them. This will make people happy. Everyone could have their own fabulous recycled scarf to keep them warm, and keep the earth cool,” she suggested. Now Laura and Claudia and their five children spend lots of time together keeping idle sweaters out of the landfill, cutting circles, and making pretty things. Here’s a swell idea: Send us your unwanted wool sweaters, and they’ll be put to good use. Better yet, we can create a special scarf for you using your own sweater, or that of a loved one whom you’d like to remember!
You’ll never see your go dotty go!™ scarf on anyone else. It’s just not possible. Each scarf is created from many different unloved woolen items, and evolves into a striking new work of art. In between, the wool is felted, cut up and every bit is salvaged for future use. We combine the various colors and textures with the original buttons, pockets and embellishments, creating a completely unique piece every time. So when your friends want to know where you got your fabulous scarf, go ahead and tell them, because they can’t have one like yours anyway.
